Tomoko Sawada is one of the rising international stars in contemporary photography.

For this book, Sawada is dressed in various formal attires―from lavish kimono to flowery western dresses. These portraits spoof "omiai shashin" a carefully-taken studio portraits of a young woman and man. "Omiai" means arranged matchmaking, and "shashin" means photograph in Japanese. Distributed to potential candidates for marriage, if both parties like each other's photographs and resumes, the matchmaker arranges a meeting for the two.
